Session 5: Shortness of Breath, Age or COPD?

By Dr. Mario Rosas, MD

Thurs., Feb. 9th, 4:00pm – 5:30pm

Sala Quetzal

100 pesos

With increasing altitude, the human body experiences a progressive oxygen deprivation. In cities such as San Miguel de Allende (6,233 feet above sea level) you will first discover that it is more difficult to walk fast. Within 2 to 3 days your body will have adjusted.  Over the course of a prolonged stay at high altitude, the body begins to adapt to the environment.

Patients with a preexisting lung disease are at greater risk of having symptoms at high altitudes. For instance, people diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) have greater difficulty clearing their lungs and they can be at greater risk for lung infections such as colds, flus, and pneumonia. Early intervention is the best way to ease your symptoms and extend longevity.

On Thursday, February 9th; Dr. Mario Rosas, MD will present a lecture on “Shortness of Breath, Age or COPD?”. In this one hour lecture, Dr. Rosas will explain how to identify specific symptoms, situations as well as provide treatment solutions for lung-related illnesses most common in seniors. A 30 minute question and answer period will follow the talk.

We ask those interested to RSVP beforehand. Please email or call Mx. Cell: 415-108-0810 or Vonage 971-327-7187 to notify us of your participation. Cost of the session is $100 pesos.

The Medical Lecture Series is presented by Peace of Mind in San Miguel and H+ Hospital San Miguel. Every second Thursday of the month, local board certified doctors will offer key information on how to treat & prevent chronic illness, accidents, & common ailments.
